Rain likely to lash in most parts of country

ISLAMABAD – Met office has forecast dust-thunderstorm/rain with gusty winds at scattered places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, D.I.Khan divisions), Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi divisions, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad divisions), Sukkur, Bahawalpur and D.G.Khan divisions in next 24 hours.

According to the synoptic situations, a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper and central parts of the country.

Another westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of Balochistan on Sunday. In the last 24 hours, the weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain occurred at isolated places in Malakand, Kohat, Kalat and Sibbi divisions.

Rainfall recorded during this time span was Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Bannu 10mm, Parachinar 04mm, Saidu Sharif, Kalam 01mm, Balochistan: Sibbi 05mm and Kalat 03mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Thursday were Mithi, Chhor, Sh. Benazirabad 43°C, Dadu and Hyderabad 42°C, Islambad 31°C, Peshawar 30°C and Lahore 35°C.
