Rangers not involved in killing of MQM worker: DG

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Director General Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) Maj Gen Bilal Akbar denied on Wednesday that a MQM worker was killed by Rangers firing, local media reported.

According media reports, DG Rangers claimed that MQM worker Waqas Shah was hit by a bullet fired from a TT pistol adding Rangers don’t have TT pistols in their armory.

Maj Gen Akbar said that the targeted operation in Karachi would continue indiscriminately against criminals regardless of any political affiliation.

He said that hardened criminals were arrested during the raid including a man wanted in journalist Wali Babar murder case.

DG Rangers said that a huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from first floor of the Khursheed Begum hall.
