Day 65: Four more youth killed, death toll rises to 96 in Held Kashmir

SRINAGAR – In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred four youth at Nowgam in Kupwara district, today Sunday.

The youth were killed during a siege and search operation in Handwara area of the district. However, Indian army claimed that the youth were killed during a gunfight, Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.

Another youth Javed Ahmad Dar, 23, resident of Wardwan Budgam, who was injured in pellet firing by Indian troops on 5th August at Narbal, succumbed to his injuries, today. With his death, the toll in the ongoing Intifada has reached to 96.

Meanwhile, undeclared curfew and restrictions marked continued in the entire Kashmir Valley on the 65th consecutive day, today.

As many as 100 people were injured in firing of pellets and bullets by Indian troops on protesters in Karimabad area of Pulwama district, today. The protests were triggered by forces’ raids in the village early this morning.

On the other hand, an Indian policeman was killed during an encounter in Poonch district of Jammu region this morning. Reports said that the exchange of fire began around 7:40 am near the Indian army’s 93 brigade headquarters.

DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range Johny Williams confirmed that a policeman had died in the ongoing encounter.
