Khaqan Abbasi arrives in Karachi on first trip as prime minister

KARACHI – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi arrived in Karachi on Saturday (today).

The premier in his first-ever visit after assuming the charge paid a visit to the Quaid’s mausoleum, ahead of the seventieth independence day.

He also met prominent entrepreneurs and delegations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) at the Governor House Karachi.

Moreover, on his maiden trip as premier of the country, law enforcers are expected to brief the prime minister on peace and security situation in the metropolis and Sindh province.

It bears mentioning that Abbasi, who became the chief executive of the country after a five-member bench of the supreme court disqualified Nawaz Sharif, was lampooned for not offering Fateha at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam as it’s a tradition for highest office bearer of the country to visit the place after taking an oath of office.
