ISLAMABAD – The Ministry of Industry and Production has appointed Shahid Iqbal Qureshi as the member of Pakistan Gems & Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) board.
Qureshi, an ex-HSBC banker who established Urdu1 TV channel in 2011, says he aims to engage all the stakeholders to widen the scope of the industry of gems and jewellery in order to boost local output.
He has also served as the board member of Lahore American school.
The PGJDC was established in 2006 as a subsidiary of Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC), working under the Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan. The charter of the Company is to enhance the value chain productivity of gems and jewellery industry of Pakistan from mine to market.
