I am a big admirer of Fawad Khan: Ranbir Kapoor

We all knew Fawad Khan was adored across the border but who knew Ranbir Kapoor was so smitten with the Humsafar star as well!

In conversation with news agency PTI, Kapoor who shared screen space with Fawad Khan in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil commented that it was “unfortunate” that the 35-year-old actor had to “bear the brunt” of the current political tension between India and Pakistan.

Ranbir added: “He’s someone who I admire and I also connected to him as a friend. I would love to do a film with him where we can share screen space for a longer time.

Fawad Khan made his debut in Bollywood in 2014 with Khoobsurat alongside Sonam Kapoor. When tensions between the two countries escalated as 17 soldiers were killed in a Uri terror attack in the confines of Jammu and Kashmir last year, several fronts sought a ban on Pakistani actors from working in Bollywood films ever since then. Due to the increasing crisis, a group of theater owners had also refused the screening of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

Ranbir’s father, Rishi Kapoor, co-starred with Fawad Khan in the 2016 flick Kapoor And Sons. The 34-year-old actor revealed that his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, were also huge fans of Fawad Khan.

I loved his part in Kapoor And Sons. My parents are his fans. My mother is borderline obsessed with Fawad, she has been watching serials like ‘Humsafar’.”
