TEHRAN – Iranian officials have alleged that the US was extending supporting to the ISIL, which has taken responsibility of recent attacks in Iran, claiming country has evidence in possession to prove it.
According to Fars news, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mostafa Izadi announced that Iran has evidence to prove Washington’s support with the terrorist group.
The news agency quoted Izadi as saying, “As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei) said, we possess documents and information showing the direct supports by the US imperialism for this highly disgusting stream (the ISIL) in the region which has destroyed the Islamic countries and created a wave of massacres and clashes”.
“We are facing a proxy warfare in the region as a new trick by the arrogant powers against the Islamic Republic,” Izadi said on Sunday.
While addressing a funeral ceremony for victims of terrorist attack in country, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani condemned the attacks, claiming that Washington was behind most of the terrorist acts in the world. He further said Washington has showed that it is the international ISIL.
The statement followed a pair of attacks on Iranian parliament and the holy shrine of late Imam Khomeini in Tehran.
On June 7, 17 people were killed while 52 others were injured in a series of attacks with one targeting Iran’s parliament and the other one at Imam Khomeini Mausoleum
