Lahore: CTD arrests 3 terrorists planning attacks on sensitive installations

LAHORE – Security force on Monday arrested three suspected terrorists planning to carry out attack on government installations.

According to Counter Terrorism Department sources, the arrested persons have links with a banned organisation involved in terrorist activities in the country.

The forces arrested Gul Azam, Jamshed Khan and Asghar Khan during the action and recovered weapons and hand grenades from their possession.

Terrorist Attack in Lahore

On February 13, around 15 people including senior police officers had been killed while 85 others were injured after a strong explosion near Punjab Assembly.

The bomb blast had occurred at Chairing Cross, Mall Road, Lahore, killing DIG Traffic Capt (r) Ahmad Mubeen, SSP Mahmood Gondal and DSP Pervez Butt.

The incident had occurred as hundreds of chemists were protesting nearby against a new regulatory law.
