ISLAMABAD (APP) – Zong signs contact with Higher Education Commission (HEC) to extend wireless broadband services to provide reliable and efficient connectivity access to students providing 3G Wireless Broad Band Services.
Arshad Kamran, Director General (Services) and Niaz A. Malik, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) CMPak signed the contract. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC and Liu Dianfeng, Chairman and CEO,
CMPak (Zong) were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said HEC is committed to efficiently providing services to students, adding, provision of internet service to students along with laptops will help them have an easy access to information and digital resources.
He said under the second phase of Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, 200,000 laptops would be provided to talented students of various universities across Pakistan and AJK, said a news release issued here on Thursday.
He said the students will have direct access to HEC Digital Library while carrying out their research.
Liu Dianfeng said, “We appreciate Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision for more emphasis on Education and vesting in the betterment of people of Pakistan”.
Education plays vital role in the progress of any nation, he said adding, Zong takes it as its responsibility to contribute to the uplift of different social sectors.
Technology and its application in the right direction can improve the knowledge and lifestyle of Pakistani people, he stated.
