CAIRO (Web Desk) – Egyptian actress Entissar is going to face trial for promoting adult movies. Nasr City Misdemeanor Court has set November 10 for her first hearing.
Entissar, known for her comic roles in TV serials, sparked a controversy during a TV show after she encouraged young men to watch adult movies.

She advocated that young people who cannot afford steep marriage costs should resort to watching such films.
The 44-year-old actress was speaking in a TV show last week and said such films can be useful for men, especially those who have no pre-marriage experience.
Her video on porn has been watched on YouTube over 1.5 million times in a matter of days. The show is presented by three women, including Entissar.
The comedian says she is not afraid of the consequences as she believes she did not say anything wrong, the Emirates247 reports.
Al Bawaba reports that Entissar has admitted to have watched such adult films.
Her remarks have brought her under fervent criticisms from common people and clerics alike.
In recent years, sex crimes have increased in Egypt, prompting the government to toughen penalties against offenders.

A UN report released in 2013 found that 99.3 per cent of women in Egypt have experienced some form of sexual harassment.
Several groups have filed lawsuits against her.
A pro-government group, calling itself ‘Who Loves Egypt’ has lodged a legal complaint with the country’s chief prosecutor, requesting Entissar be questioned for allegedly inciting debauchery, an offence punishable by up to one year in prison.
No legal action has been taken against the actress.
Entissar was trending on social media following her comments. Her views garnered varied responses on social media and opened a flood gate of debates.
