DUBAI – Pakistan will play its 400th Test match against West Indies in a three-match pink-ball series in UAE, which will start with a day-night match in Dubai on Thursday, (October 13).
While Pakistani players and fans are eyeing the opportunity to move up the rankings, the ICC says Green Shirts do not have a chance to reclaim the number-one ranking from India even with a 3-0 win.
However, the International Cricket Council did not explain why Pakistan has no chance to upset India in the Test rankings.
India displaced Pakistan earlier this week by regaining the ICC Test rankings officially after winning the Indore Test against New Zealand by a massive 321 run margin.
Pakistan stands at number 2 in the MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for Test Team, with 111 points having played 2767 matches.
