NEW DELHI – A retired pensioner was found living with the body of his wife in Kalkaji area of Indian capital, police said.
90-year old Govind Ram’s neighbours informed police of stench emanating from his house, Indian media reported.
According to Delhi police, the pensioner is ‘mentally unsound’ and had been living with his wife’s body in one-room flat.
An autopsy has been conducted on the body and ruled out any possibility of foul play, police added.
The police official said the exact cause of the death will be known after the post-mortem report is received.
Ram’s distant relatives were informed and they took him to hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.
