PM Imran to announce special package for overseas Pakistanis

After an ‘extensive meeting’ on issues of overseas Pakistanis, PM Khan, in a series of tweets, said the government would remove all hindrances & procedural issues faced by overseas nationals.
Had an extensive mtg this morning on Overseas Pakistanis. We are going to announce a special package of incentives to encourage them to send remittances through banking channels by removing all hindrances & procedural issues. Philippines did this successfully.

"We will be able to increase remittance flows from $20 billion to at least $30 billion and perhaps even $40 billion through banking channels," PM Imran added.

The premier added that the government also moving to remove hassles overseas Pakistanis confront at immigration when they come to Pakistan. “Our Missions abroad have also been directed to look after and deal effectively with the concerns of our Overseas Pakistanis,” he stated.

“Our govt is also going to ensure protection for the Overseas Pakistanis’ properties and land especially from land mafias,” reassuring his support to country nationals living abroad, PM added.
In his first address to the nation after taking the oath, PM Imran had urged Pakistanis residing out of the country to send their money through proper banking channels and invest in the country to help overcome the rising current account deficit.

Moreover, the premier had also appointed his close friend Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari as his special assistant for Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development with the status of Minister of State.
