Rangers appreciate Karachiites for dismissing MQM s strike call

KARACHI (Staff Report) – Sindh Rangers on Saturday praised the citizens of Karachi for dismissing the strike call of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) against alleged extrajudicial killing of four workers.

In a statement the Rangers spokesperson said the Karachiites have refused to accept the threats of enemies of Karachi’s peace. Karachiites and Rangers stand together for the restoration of peace in the city, he said.

Earlier Rangers arrested as many as eight workers of MQM for forcing the citizens to close shops as party was observing a mourning day following the alleged extrajudicial killing of party workers.

On Thursday night Sindh Rangers killed four target killers in an encounter who later on turned out to be MQM workers. The party blamed paramilitary force for killing their workers in extrajudicial actions.

Following the allegations the Rangers said that MQM’s workers were hiding in ‘safe houses’ upon directions of top leadership. The culprits targeted last night were involved in murder of a lawyer, the spokesperson said.

“MQM leadership has asked all of their workers involved in criminal activities to go in hiding however Rangers still managed to arrest Asif Ali, who was involved in murder of MQM worker Waqas Shah during the Nine-Zero raid, from Shahdadpur,” it further aded.

Rangers also reiterated that Karachi Operation will continue till the end of targeted killing in port city.
