LAHORE – Project director of the newly built Greater Iqbal Park was shot and injured on early Thursday morning near Sheranwala gate, police said.
Javed Hamid was travelling in a car when unknown men approached and opened fire at him. He was taken to nearby hospital. “The director received two bullets in his leg”, hospital sources said.
The incident apparently seems personal enmity as Javed Hamid had registered a case against a contractor and the incident, police added.
police have registered a case and started the investigation.
The Greater Iqbal Park was inaugurated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in December last year. Sprawling on 120 acres, the park offers a library, an open-air gymnasium and dancing fountains among other things to its visitors.
