LAHORE – The plane Pakistan’s ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz are travelling on has been diverted to Multan on Friday amid a worsening law and order situation.
The father-daughter duo have returned to the country a week after they were sentenced in the Avenfield reference pertaining to their luxury apartments in London.
They departed from Abu Dhabi after their flight was delayed on Friday evening. They had left London a day earlier. Their flight, Etihad Airways flight EY243, was earlier scheduled to land at 6.15pm local time at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport.
