Pakistan expresses concerns over unprovoked firing from Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan has expressed deep concerns over the unprovoked firing used by at Afghan border forces and urged Afghan government to immediately investigate the matter.

According to a PM Office spokesperson, Pakistan considers these unprovoked attacks unhelpful in Pak-Afghan relations.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said border management with Afghanistan is vital for our security.

In a tweet, he said free flow of traffic cannot be allowed at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

He said that the latest incident of firing from Afghanistan was given an appropriate response by Pakistan at the Torkham border.

Earlier, a soldier of Pakistani security forces got wounded following unprovoked firing by Afghan security forces across the border at Torkham.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistani security forces responded to Afghan firing effectively.

In order to check movement of terrorists through Torkham, Pakistan is constructing a gate on own its side of the border as a necessity to check unwanted and illegal movement.
