Talks only way to resolve Pak-India disputes, reiterates Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that talks are the only way to resolve all outstanding disputes between Pakistan and India and the two countries must engage in bilateral talks as soon as possible.

In an interview, he said Pakistan is ready to hold dialogue with India on all issues including terrorism and the territorial dispute of Kashmir.

He said that the government was committed to eliminating the menace of terrorism and it had launched operation Zarb-e-Azb to maintain law and order in the country.

He said Pakistan had been a victimized by terrorism more than any other country, adding that the country’s armed forces had rendered huge sacrifices for peace and stability in the region.

Answering a question, Sartaj Aziz said a criteria should be evolved to grant membership of any nation in the Nuclear Suppliers Group and then it should be applied to all the aspiring countries including India and Pakistan.

Sartaj Aziz said besides China, several NSG member countries such as New Zealand and Turkey are also supporting Pakistan’s stance about India’s inclusion in the club.
