KARACHI (Web Desk) – Former Pakistan People’s Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Nabeel Gabol alleged on Friday that a plan had been hatched to assassinate him in Karachi’s Lyari area.
Gabol, while speaking to a local media outlet, said the killer, named Patni, was to assassinate him in Lyari so as to present the killing as connected to the ongoing gang war in the troubled town.
Gabol said some political obstacles led to a delay in the raid on Nine-Zero which, according to him, had been planned initially to take place before the Senate elections.
The federal government and Sindh chief minister were also taken on board before the raid, he added.
Gabol had parted ways with the MQM on February 24, 2015.
