ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan on Friday rejected outright the Indian reservations over the verdict of the Islamabad High Court declaring Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi’s detention as illegal.
The Foreign Office, according to a statement issued to the media, termed India’s protest over the matter as ‘unnecessary’ and “unjustified”, saying, “Pakistan truly believes in the independence of judiciary and argued well the Mumbai attacks case before the honorable court.”
Pakistan, in the statement, demanded India to immediately share the details of investigation into the Samjhota Express attack that took place two years before the Mumbai attacks.
Pakistan has exchanged as many as 10 dossiers with India over the 26/11 attacks, but Indian cooperation is lukewarm.
Also, the Foreign Office condemned Indian’s advancement to summon the Pakistani high commissioner in New Delhi to protest against the court’s decision.
The Foreign Office meanwhile summoned the Indian deputy high commissioner and recorded a strong protest over India’s (mal)treatment.
