India beat Zimbabwe by 6 wickets

AUCKLAND (Web Desk) – India has defeated Zimbabwe by 6 wickets in a pool B game at Auckland cricket stadium at the cricket world cup 2015.

Rohit Sharma and the skipper MS Dhoni helped the team to win the sixth consecutive match at the mega event after the team was 94-4 in 23rd over. They scored 110 and 85 runs respectively.

India successfully chased the target of 288 runs with 8 balls remaining.

Zimbabwe’s Panyangara picked two wickets for 53 runs.

Zimbabwe, while batting first,  set a target of 288 runs for India in pool B match at the cricket world cup 2015 in Auckland cricket stadium.

The outgoing Zimbabwe skipper RM Taylor was the most successful batsman to score 138 runs off 110 balls only with the help of 15 fours and 5 sixes, when top order batsmen failed to stand long at the crease. SC Williams also helped him to raise a satisfactory target for India’s strong bating side, with 50 runs.

As many as 6 batsmen of the team returned to pavilion before they could enter double figure scores.

Mohammad Shami, UT Yadav and MM Sharma, each picked three wickets for India whereas Ashwin ousted one batsman.

Earlier India chose to field first after winning the toss in 39th game of the mega event.
