Malaysia s PM Mahathir will be Guest of Honour at Pakistan Day parade: ISPR

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army’s spokesman has said that Pakistan Day on 23 March will be celebrated with full enthusiasm under the parade slogan “Pakistan Zindabad.”

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor took to Twitter on Wednesday and informed that Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir bin Muhammad will be the guest of honour in the Pakistan Day celebrations and parade on March 23.

He said that “Guests include Def Minister Azerbaijan, COAS Bahrain & govt officials from Oman. Various contingents from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, China, KSA, Sri Lanka & Turkey will participate in Parade.”

The DG ISPR informed that Turkey’s F-16 and China’s J-10 aircraft will also take part in the parade along with Pakistan armed forces.

During his visit to Malaysia in November last year, Prime Minister Imran Khan had invited Dr Mahathir to visit Pakistan as chief guest on Pakistan Day which falls on March 23. Mahathir Mohammad had accepted the invitation.

Pakistan Day is celebrated to mark the Lahore Resolution on March 23 each year. The Lahore Resolution, also known as Pakistan Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, is considered a major milestone in the Muslim struggle for an independent state.
