ISLAMABAD: Afghanistan Ambassador to Pakistan, Omer Zakhilwal called on Pakistan’ Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and to discuss bilateral issues with a particular focus on border management.
Director General Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Lt-Gen Asim Bajwa said on Twitter that General Raheel Sharif and Afghan envoy had agreed to resume routine border traffic at the Torkham crossing.

Earlier, on 11 May, border crossing at Torkham was closed for all types of vehicles and pedestrian traffic. Afghan border authorities objected to the laying of barbed wire near the border.
The border officials have intensified checking of Afghan nationals crossing over to Pakistan.
