BANNU (Online) – At least eight suspected terrorists were killed as a result of a retaliatory fire by security forces after a check post came under attack in Bannu on Friday.
According to security officials, more than two dozen terrorists stormed the Khadim Shaheed check post in Daryoba Agency and gunfire ensued, resulting in the death of eight attackers on the spot.
According to the officials, the rest of the attackers fled leaving behind the bodies of their accomplices.
None of the security personnel were hurt in the extremist attack, the officials said.
Soon after the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and conducted search operations to arrest the fleeing terrorists.
