RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Monday visited forward bases at the Line of Control (LoC), ISPR reported.
Army chief resolved to continue support for Kashmiris against Indian atrocities, adding that the army is with them in their struggle.
He added that India’s inhumane attitude in occupied Kashmir could not battle with the courage and sacrifices of the brave Kashmiris.
Defending the country is a better way to celebrate the independence, he said.
General Bajwa was briefed by troops on their operational preparedness against ceasefire violations by Indian forces along the LoC, the ISPR statement added.
‘Largest National Flag’
In wee hours of Monday, the army chief hoisted the largest national flag in the history of Pakistan at Wagah Border on the eve of Pakistan’s 70th anniversary and said that though “we made a few mistakes in the past, we are on our way to development following the Constitution.”
The flag, made entirely in Pakistan, was hoisted on a 400-feet pole at midnight. The size of the flag is 120 feet by 80 feet.
