General Mohammad Saeed replaces Lt Gen Bilal Akbar, who has now been posted as Chief of General Staff. Bilal Akbar had been serving as DG Rangers Sindh since August 2014.

The post of DG Rangers holds high significance because of the continuing Karachi operation against criminal elements, which began in September 2013.
