TURBAT – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif inaugurated N-85 Surab-Hoshab Road in Turbat (Balochistan) on Wednesday.
The 448-kilometre road, an important component of the Western Corridor of CPEC, has been completed at a cost of over 22 billion Rupees in order to link Gwadar Port with National Highway network.
Radio Pakistan has reported that it comprises sixteen bridges and 1502 culverts.
The project links Gwadar Port with National Highway network (N-25) near Surab, Quetta and other parts of the country.
It will provide the shortest link to Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries with Gwadar Port.
With the completion of this project, the vital North-South road connectivity has also been completed.
On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister announced the construction of Hoshab-Avaran-Lasbela road, to be jointly financed by the Federal and the Provincial Governments.
