LAHORE – A leading American fast food chain, McDonald’s is facing backlash from Muslim countries after it announced free meals for Israel Defence Forces and citizens amid ongoing war with Hamas.
McDonald’s Israel in a post on Instagram announced that it has shipped 4,000 meals to Israeli soldiers and will continue to send the same number daily. It also announced 50% discount on food items at its branches for soldiers and security officials.
The decision comes after Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, which has now launched a massive action, killing almost 1,900 Palestinians in Gaza.
The free meal offer for Israeli soldiers has sparked outrage on social media where people are calling for boycotting the food chain.
