Another bizarre divorce case, Egyptian woman filed a divorce over a shawarma wrap

Husband refused to buy both juice and shawarma wrap. He also accused his wife of “exploiting his wealth”

The divorce rates in Arab are increasing day by day. Right when we thought bizarre divorce cases in Arab worlds are done this incident topped our list.

Woman filed for a divorce after her husband refused to buy her a shawarma wrap on an outing telling her it’s too expensive. Well that’s not it things got really weird after this brides 40 days marriage turned out to be her biggest mistake ever. The husband’s stinginess was unacceptable by the bride who now has been identified as Sameeha.

This traditional arranged marriage for her was a total disaster she knew the man for two months before the marriage only and accepted that she never noticed the stinginess of her husband (of course!).

“During the first week of our marriage, he told me he hates going out anywhere because that’d be a waste of money,” she said

He would count the loaves of bread before leaving the house so he could keep an eye on his wife to track how many she ate. After several days of getting married Sameeha begged to go out as a married couple after forty days of marriage (like any normal person would) and the husband agreed reluctantly.

“During the outing, I asked my husband to buy me a shawarma wrap, but he refused, saying ‘we went out to get juice and that’s it’. He also accused me of trying to ‘exploit his wealth’, by forcing him to buy both juice and a sandwich all at once,” she explained

He even argued with her on their first outing and asked her to get out of his car and find herself some public transportation. That was the tipping point for her as she took off to her parents home where she filed a divorce.

People online supported her decision by saying how stinginess is the worst trait in any human being. Well saving money is something else but not spending on things like food and the basics is just weird.
