DUBAI – It is not every day that you meet your favourite idol, just casually sitting at the mall and having his lunch. It is even rare that he asks you to sit down and have a meal with them. Now, that would be a dream day, wouldn’t it?
Something similar happened to this fan of Atif Aslam’s. Meet Laraab Jamil Dhingra. Ms. Dhingra is a teacher in Sea View Academy in Karachi, and a very big fan of Atif Aslam too.
She told her story of meeting Atif Aslam to Mangobaaz, which also turned out to be the best day of her holidays in Dubai.
Laraib spotted Atif in a mall as she was waiting for her order at Shake Shack, eating alone. As her fangirling moment was about to set loose, Atif noticed her and called her up, and invited her and her friends to sit down with him.
“Beith jao, mein keh raha houn na bus beith jao, beith jao chup chap,” he said as they casually chilled.
When Laraib inquired why he was sitting alone, Atif responded that he missed this life, and that it was nice to talk to someone like this. When their order arrived, Atif asked them to sit right there and eat with him.
Seeing him in this avatar, without the superstar label stuck to him was a nice and welcoming thought. Talking to your idol without having people line up to get a picture with them is something one would always yearn for.
Laraib told that Atif even talked to her sister on the phone, who was somewhere else in the mall at the moment.
Now isn’t that sweet?
