Nawaz Sharif relocated to Jinnah Hospital from jail

LAHORE – Former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif was shifted to Jinnah Hospital Lahore from Kot Lakh Pat Jail on Friday.

The home department issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, stating that the special medical board of services hospital and his personal physician had recommended the relocation for a minimum required period.

A VVIP room was also prepared for the supreme leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz where an LCD TV has also been installed.

Allama Iqbal Medical College’s principal Arif Tajjamul detailed that Nawaz was given place keeping two things in mind i.e ensure proper health care and comfort.

On the other hand, Nawaz’s personal physician Dr Adnan did not seem satisfied with the facilities available at the Hospital.

Dr Adnan said they were expecting that the former prime minister would be shifted to a facility with extensive medical care.

Meanwhile, PML-N Central Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb fired a broadside at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for intentionally putting Nawaz through mental torture by shifting him to a hospital which was irrelevant to his ailment.

Nawaz Sharif was convicted in the Al-Azizia steel mills reference and was sentenced to seven years in prison by an accountability court in December, last year.

He was also convicted in the Avenfield reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau, however, the Islamabad High Court had suspended the conviction.

Talkint to party leaders on Thursday, Sharif had claimed that he would be released by next Friday.

On the other hand, former chief minister Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif was released from the minister’s enclave on Friday.

The younger Sharif was granted bail by Lahore High Court in two cases following which he was released from the minister’s enclave which was declared a sub-jail; he is due in Lahore on Saturday.
