LONDON (Web Desk) – Swiss government has rejected application of Brahamdagh Bugti for political asylum.
Brahamdagh Bugti, grandson Akbar Bughti, is founding chief of Baloch Republican Party. He went into exile after the death of his grandfather Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti in a military operation in “Tratani”, an adjacent area of Kohlu, Balochistan on 26 August 2006. Now, he has been living in Geneva from five years.
Pakistan banned Baloch Republican Party due to its alleged involvement in terrorism activities.
According to Geo News, main reason of Bugti’s asylum application’s rejection is also that Pakistan had declared Baloch Republican Party as a terrorist organisation.
Earlier, tribesmen belonging to different Bugti tribes met in United Arab Emirates and demanded for their safe return to Dera Bugti.
According to a handout issued here, Hamoon Khan Bugti, a chief of United Tribes, while addressing the gathering said that they would appeal to Swiss government to reject the application of Brahamdagh Bugti for political asylum. He said that Brahamdagh was the killer of several Bugti tribesmen.
Hamoom said that Bugti had an Indian passport. He said that they had been threatened by the separatist leader to shut the mouth, adding that they would continue to expose the real face of Bugti.
He further said that Bugti was a terrorist and still killing innocent Bugtis’ in the Dera. “We will fight for our basic rights. We need to go back to our homes which were bulldozed by Bugti in 2002,” he said.
