Samsung wins Corporate Social Responsibility award

LAHORE (Staff Report) – The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Samsung Electronics Pakistan won prestigious award at the 8th Annual CSR Summit held by the National Forum for Environment and Health (NFEH) in federal capital on Thursday.

Mr. Kyeong Hun Park, the Business Head of Samsung’s Consumer Electronics (CE) Division, personally attended the event to receive the award, granted in the categories of Public Health & Safety, Community Development & Services and Technology Innovation.

Samsung’s public health and safety initiatives include the donation of 2 hi-tech Echo-cardiography units and one Ultrasound Colour Doppler machine to Jinnah Hospital Karachi and mobile health units for the Punjab and KPK.

Further, incubator named – ‘The Nest I/O’ for nurturing talents and research. The community development award recognizes Samsung’s collaboration with TEVTA to create 32 labs in Sindh and Punjab offering training courses for electronic appliances and mobile technology.

Mr. J H Lee, president Samsung Pakistan said, “These prestigious awards have recognised the resourceful social interventions of Samsung. We are thankful to NFEH for appreciating our endeavours and inspiring us to continue investing in the People”.
