Cracks appear on KP’s Bab-e-Peshawar flyover

PESHAWAR – Residents in Khyber Paktukhwa capital city are complaining about cracks on a flyover, causing panic among the motorists.

Ayaz Khan, a journalist from Khyber TV, was the first of many to take the issue to social media by sharing pictures of the cracks on Bab-e-Peshawar Flyover on Monday.

The flagship project of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led government in KP was inaugurated in 2016 by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. The project costing Rs1.7 billion at Phase III Chowk Hayatabad was completed by the provincial government. The construction work was carried out by National Logistic Cell (NLC) in record period of five months.

The flyover is the first of its nature in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and only the second at national level. The length of the bridge is 2,128 m.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq, Speaker Provincial Assembly Asad Qaiser, ministers, senators, advisors, members provincial assembly, district nazim Peshawar and others attended the ceremony in January two years ago.
