Pre-monsoon showers expected in many parts of country: Met Office

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather around the country will be hot and dry during the day; however, dust-thunderstorms/rain with gusty winds are expected in the evening/night in different cities including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Malakand Division, Azad Kashmir, Fata, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Pre-monsoon rains are also expected in northern areas of the country during the coming week.

The weather has mostly remained hot and dry during the last 24 hours although light showers brought the temperature down in Lahore yesterday. The minimum forecast temperature today in Lahore is 27 C while Karachi, Peshawar and Islamabad will brave 28 C.

Tuesday's highest maximum temperatures were recorded in Dalbandeen, Larkana, Shaheed Benazir Abad, Sibbi , Dadu, and Kohat at 46 C and in Rahim yar Khan at 45 C.
