BEIJING – Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its first gaming smartphone Black Shark with customized hardware to bring out the best gaming performance out of a handset.
Black Shark features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160×1080 (FHD+) resolution. The display supports with DCI-P3 Wide colour gamut that goes up to 97 percent and brightness up to 550 nits.
The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Octa-core (4×2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor and Andreno 630 GPU. For optimal performance, the company equipped the phone with a multi-stage integrated liquid cooling system that brings the CPU temperature 8° C down and to enhance the gaming experience there is a dual-speaker setup coupled with a high-quality microphone.
Xiaomi Black Shark comes in two storage variants, 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage.
For imaging, there are dual camera setup 12 MP f/1.75 + 20 MP f/1.75 with 6P lens and a dual-LED flash with pixel size of 1.25 µm and 1 µm pixels on the back side of the phone. The selfie camera has an identical 20MP sensor but the slower f/2.2 lens.
The body of the phone is in an X-shape for a better grip, and the frame is also utilized as an antenna and users can attach a Black Shark Gamepad.
The phone has Android Oreo, topped with JOY UI, which is a custom launcher that shares some of its apps with Xiaomi’s MIUI.
Furthermore, the phone comes with a powerful battery of 4,000 mAh.
