Imran puts forth condition for attending NA session

ISLAMABAD – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has said that he will attend the session of national Assembly, the day Prime Minister shows up in the House.

Talking to newsmen in Lahore on Friday, he stated that by lying in the parliament, PM Nawaz had himself undermined the institution.

He insisted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should answer allegations of money laundering and tax evasion in front of the parliament.

Responding to the allegations regarding U-Turn, he observed that people did not understand the meaning of U-Turn.

“Changing your stance or lying is a U-turn,” said the PTI chief.

“We wanted to hold the PM accountable and that is what we are trying to do,” he added.

The PTI chief said that Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had claimed that the matter was in court. Imran said that it was not a trivial matter that the Prime Minister had lied on the floor of the house.

“I refuse to recognise Ayaz Sadiq as the Speaker of the National Assembly,” said Imran.

He also slammed the government for its inefficiency with respect to Justice Faiz Qazi’s report in which the federal interior minister, Balochistan chief minister and home minister were blamed for misleading information regarding the Quetta hospital carnage.

Imran said that terrorism will not be tolerated. He lauded Pakistan Army for carrying out an effective operation against militants and said that it was due to the armed forces that terrorism had reduced in the country.
