LAHORE (Web Desk) – The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is united, tweeted an upset Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday, breaking his silence amid speculations of rifts within the party.
Bilawal’s statement comes the day when disgruntled PPP leaders Amin Fahim and Zulfiqar Mirza arrived in London, where the former ruling group’s chairperson is staying.
“Those who are speaking against the leadership are not the well-wishers of the party,” said Bilawal in his reply to the person who criticised the party, adding, “he was not expecting it from him”.
Differences between Fahim and Zardari surfaced after the PPP leadership decided to appoint Sherry Rehman as Vice President of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP).
Fahim, who is president of PPPP, complained that he was not taken into confidence upon the development.
Mir za had severely criticized the party leadership, especially co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari for “destroying the party”.
“Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto did not sacrifice her life to help Mr Zardari become a billionaire,” Mirza said talking to a private television few days ago.
Except for Bilawal Bhutto, all the PPP leaders were on ‘daily wages’, said Mirza, adding no amount to ‘graft money’ could satisfy their ballooning bellies that were always stretching to accommodate more as if made of rubber.
