Imran Khan narrowly escapes mobile phone attack in Multan

MULTAN – After a failed shoe thrown attempt in Gujrat, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan came under a ‘mobile phone attack’ in Multan but remained safe.

Imran Khan was addressing a public rally at Double Phatak Chowk in Multan atop a vehicle when an unknown man hurled the mobile phone, targeting the PTI head, but it could not hit him and fell on the surface, reported Daily Dunya.

Police have taken the mobile into custody and launched an investigation to trace the suspect.

In another incident, police detained some suspects from a roof of a house in Shah Abbas Chowk after PTI leader Rana Fazal informed police that the suspects belonged to PML-N and wanted to hurl a shoe at Khan.

On Tuesday, PTI leader Abdul Aleem Khan was hit by a shoe hurled from the audience at a public rally in Gujrat, inviting a storm on social media.

Just as the party chairman, Imran Khan, turned to left while addressing the crowd atop a vehicle in the evening, a shoe came flying and hit Aleem, who was standing beside him, squarely in the chest. The PTI leader brushed off his chest and continued to smile.

The man who threw the show was arrested by the security staff. Media reports suggest he was “upset at Imran Khan supporting Zardari”.
