WhatsApp rolls out exciting features for Android users

MENLO PARK – Facebook-owned social messaging service WhatsApp rolled out new features for Android users.

The new update includes the ability to let Android users add a description to a group which was previously available on the beta versions for Android and Windows Phone.

The feature allows users to add important information or topic of the WhatsApp group. Group descriptions are available on the chat screen as a pinned box and are also visible when inviting someone via the group’s invite link.

Group description is different from the group names on WhatsApp. This new section allows users to add a description to their WhatsApp groups and has a limit of 500 characters and it can be found under ‘Group Info’.

Furthermore, WhatsApp for Android will now allow users to search the list of group participants directly from group info. These two new group-related features are coming in the newest version of WhatsApp for Android.

Switch to video call button

Other than this, WhatsApp Android users can easily switch between voice and video calls by simply tapping the video button while on a call.
