Army troops arrived Lahore for Muharram security duties

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Pak Army troops will provide security during Muharram mourning processions and Majalis.

According to ISPR the Army troops riding on dozens of vehicles to the sensitive places, the courts flag marched on the main routes of public meetings.

Army will assist law enforcement agencies and the armed forces to keep peace in the city.

Under the plan, the Army and Rangers will remain deployed in the city from Muharram 7 to 10.

The police have written a letter to Punjab Home Department for suspending the mobile phone service.

As many as 10,000 policemen will be deployed to provide security to 616 mourning processions and 5,700 Majalis.

The police have declared 870 places as sensitive. Pillion riding will be banned in all cities.

The mourning processions will be monitored through drones. Leaves of cops deployed for operation duties have been cancelled.
