Man injured after US consulate member rams vehicle into motorbike in Karachi

KARACHI – A female member of the US consulate in Karachi on Monday rammed her vehicle into a motorcycle, leaving one injured, police said.

The accident happened near PIDC flyover after which people surrounded the vehicle. In a picture, a woman can be seen present on the driving seat.

The motorcyclist received wounds to his foot and he was shifted to hospital by the local people.

The woman, according to police, is staff member of the consulate. She moved away after the accident leaving her vehicle on the spot.

In April, a military attache of the US embassy in Islamabad named Colonel Joseph Emanuel killed a motorcyclist after he jumped red signal at Daman-i-Koh Chowk. A co-rider also injured in the incident. He was let go by the police after registration of a case of the accident.

The deceased’s father moved the Islamabad High Court to put the name of the military attache on the Exit Control List (ECL) alleging that Emanuel was intoxicated when he hit his son to death.
