Three car lifters killed in encounter with Karachi police

KARACHI – Three suspects involved in stealing government vehicles and other serious crimes were killed during an exchange of fire with Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Karachi on Monday night.

As per details, the suspects were intercepted at a checkpoint near Northern Bypass but they did not stop the vehicle and opened fired at the officials.

In retaliatory firing, all the three suspects identified as Shehzad Abbasik Ashok Kumar and Asad Merani received bullet injuries. They were shifted to the hospital where the doctors pronounced them dead on arrival.

Authorities said Kumar was involved in 12 theft cases and a kidnapping for ransom case, while Abbasi was wanted by the police in 33 cases.

The ACLS officials recovered weapons and stolen car from their possession. The killed car lifters stole the vehicles from different parts of Karachi and sell them in Balochistan.
