Lahore College Students Family Seeks Legal Action Against Those Spreading False Rape Claims

LAHORE – The alleged rape case of a private college student took another turn as the family denied any kind of sexual assault with the girl, and now requested police to initiate legal proceedings against those pushing false claims.

The family members of the girl are demanding stringent legal measures against the perpetrators of this misinformation campaign.

Secretary of Punjab Home Department, the Secretary of Special Education, and the Secretary of Higher Education showed their support for the affected student and her family during visit to her house.

In response to growing disinformation surrounding the case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has taken action by forming a seven-member committee within its Cyber Crime Cell. This committee aims to investigate and address the individuals responsible for spreading false narratives and inciting unrest related to the incident.

The family remains determined to seek justice and hold accountable those who have contributed to their daughter’s distress through false claims.

Students in Lahore continue protest over accusation of a rape incident involving a security guard. The unrest began after social media reports claimed the assault occurred in a campus basement last week. Lahore, and other cities saw anti-harassment rallies amid clashes with police on Monday that injured at least 28 students.

College students in the provincial capital Punjab vowed to continue their demonstrations until safety measures are established on college campuses.
