ISLAMABAD – An employee of a five-star hotel in Islamabad was rounded up on Monday for allegedly molesting a teenage boy inside a hotel’s washroom.
According to police, the 13-year-old victim visited a restaurant inside the Serena hotel along with his family on Saturday to have dinner when he went to the bathroom where a staffer allegedly touched his private parts repeatedly. The accused fled the scene after the boy shouted.
The family later took the matter with the management of the hotel but it did not take action, saying that ghosts might have done this to the boy.
After the management showed non-seriousness in the matter, the family called the capital police and registered a sexual abuse case against the accused.
On Sunday, the hotel management produced the accused, identified as 24-year-old who works as a sweeper, before the police.
The police on Monday presented the accused before a local court where he was sent on judicial remand.
The accused during interrogation denied the allegation, claiming that he just helped the boy when he was trying to open the automatic tap.
He added that he noticed that the boy’s qameez was tucked in his shalwar and he just pulled it out, but by doing so, he inadvertently touched his genitals, Express Tribune reported.
However, the boy refused the staffer’s claims, adding that the accused did this five times.
