ISLAMABAD – A six-member delegation of US Army Central Command led by Lieutenant General Michael Garrett met Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The delegation, which is on a three-day visit to Pakistan this week, said such events will allow both countries to boost ties essential to accelerate counterterrorism efforts in the region, Radio Pakistan reported.
The visiting delegation also held a meeting with the Director General of Military Training and the Director General of Military Operations at the Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
Lieutenant General Michael Garrett also discussed different areas of military cooperation between both countries with Director General of Joint Staff and Director General of Joint Warfare and Training.
Garret was also briefed about the training of Pakistani soldiers to battle with terrorist groups during his visit to the National Counter Terrorism Training Centre in Pabbi.
Calling the tour to Pakistan a distinct honour, the US General said his visit is significant in extending the bilateral relationship between two militaries and countries.
