Advancement and progress, for any society, is impossible without good education but what if the society is too impoverished to afford good education? Does it justify conceding to illiteracy that gives birth to unemployment, ignorance and other social problems? No! It simply doesn’t. Education is an absolute ideal of humankind that never loses its relevance, despite obstacles and hurdles.
The Punjab Educational Endowment Fund (PEEF) seeks to do the same in a country like Pakistan. It has brought about a revolutionary change in education and hundreds of thousands of students have availed this fund.
The PEEF has been established with the objective of providing scholarships/monetary assistance to talented and needy students for pursuing quality education with equal opportunities. PEEF endeavours to bring best educational opportunities to the less privileged and talented youth of Punjab, and bring them at par with the most fortunate ones.
To address the crux of the educational crisis in our society, allocation of these scholarships has been fixed on the basis of Tehsils and District wise results of students. These scholarships focus towards the sixteen (16) less developed districts, especially from southern Punjab.
Special quotas for orphans, children of BPS1-4 govt. employees, disabled, minorities and widows have also been allocated. The PEEF is also providing an opportunity for higher education to the talented and needy students of other provinces AJK, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan & Islamabad Capital Territory through this program.
The PEEF is also providing an opportunity for higher education to the often neglected and undermined talented and needy students of other provinces AJK, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan & Islamabad Capital Territory through this program.
