TAXILA – Former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar has advised his party leaders to avoid confrontation with the military or the judiciary.
“Avoiding confrontation is in the best interest of Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the political process,” the PML-N leader said while addressing a press conference in Taxila on Saturday.
“I want to know what is PML-N’s narrative,” he asked. “My stance is that we should not be engaged in a fight with the judiciary or the army,” he added.
“If any relief is going to come on the disqualification [of Nawaz Sharif] it is going to come from the Supreme Court,” Nisar asserted.
The former minister said that he had conveyed the same stance in the previous Cabinet and to the party’s central executive committee. “Time has come for an elaborate discussion on several matters,” Nisar said, adding that he will soon reveal information on these matters.
Responding to questions about his disagreements with party leadership, Nisar said that he believes in discussing his problems within the party. There never was any forward bloc neither will there ever be, he added.
