Director Foreign Affairs Shafqat Cheema arrested over corruption charges

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday raided the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and arrested the Director Foreign Affairs Shafqat Ali Cheema over corruption charges.

NAB confiscated all documents and records related to Shafqat who was in-charge of the Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives desks.

Shafqat has been accused of stealing and selling 200 blue passports issued on official basis. The suspect will be presented before an accountability court where authorities will obtain a physical remand of the suspect for further investigation.
