Chinese Naval ships dock at Karachi for bilateral exercise with Pak Navy

KARACHI – Chinese Navy Ships Changxingdao and PLA-N Ship Handan have arrived in Karachi to participate in the 4th Pak-China bilateral naval exercise.

Commander 18th Destroyer Squadron Mirza Foad Amin Baig and Senior Captain Chi Qingtao, Flotilla Commander Chinese Naval in a joint media brief in Karachi today said this significant exercise comprises Harbour and Sea Phases.

Underlining the aims and objectives of the exercise, Commodore Mirza Foad Amin Baig said that it is aimed at improving interoperability for conducting combined maritime operations.

He said Pakistan Navy has taken the number of measures to promote peace and stability in the maritime commons of the world’s most important sea routes. Flotilla Commander of Chinese Navy said these exercises are significant in the backdrop of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

Pak-China Naval Exercises will continue till 21 November and certainly the conduct of these exercises will help improve the capability to protect Gwadar Port activities.
